Building a Twig End Table - June 18, 2011 in Old Forge, N.Y.

In this four hour workshop, participants learn the basic techniques of rustic twig joinery while building a twig end table. Each student will build a table to take home at the end of the day.

Students will construct a twig table from materials and fasteners supplied by Kapristo Mountain Woodcraft. The wood will already be trimmed and cut to length. Dean will talk about collecting raw material, drilling and construction techniques, the use of jigs to make the process simpler and how to finish the table after allowing the wood to dry.

This workshop is an excellent introduction to building rustic furniture, or a fun afternoon with a new project design for those who’ve taken the rustic chair-building workshop before.

Workshop fee includes all materials. No prerequisite. Students must assemble tool kit per attached Tool list. Participants must be in good health and able to perform moderate manual labor.

Building a Rustic Garden Trellis - not currently scheduled

In this half day workshop, participants learn the basic techniques of rustic twig joinery while building a garden trellis. Each student will build a trellis to take home at the end of the day, and will also take the materials and plans to build a second trellis in a different design.
